In practical use, the amp is simplicity itself to use and that valuable boost in volume really does make your smartphone or tablet a useful media station. Hooked up to my demanding headphones it sounded bold and very pleasing. The same was true when connected to my Hi-Fi. I didn’t have to crank the volume as high as I would otherwise and the sound quality was more solid than when the DB12 was not connected. This is an analog amp so there is no digital magic going on inside to improve the sound and I did notice a tiny loss of fidelity in complex music tracks when using the DB12 but nothing that would bother anyone less of an audiophile than me and much less loss in quality than I expected from such a small battery-powered gadget.

Cyrus SoundKey

The second mobile audio device we are looking at this month is from the excellent British company Cyrus. The Cyrus SoundKey unlike the Helm DB12 is a DAC (Digital-to-Analogue Converter) for your smartphone, tablet, laptop or PC so it connects to the digital output on your device which is always some form of USB unless you are an Apple iOS user in which case it is most likely a Lightning port. I was blown away to find that the SoundKey comes with high-quality OTG USB adapters for all the different flavors of USB right in the box! If however, you are iOS user you will have to use a Lightning Camera Kit connector which Cyrus doesn’t supply as it is a proprietary Apple product.

I have tested and owned several Hi-Fi sized DACs and was blown away that most of the quality of these large, expensive devices has been boiled down into a tiny little USB key by @Cyrus_Audio

A DAC takes the digital audio info from the device and refines and improves it via special circuitry to make it sound better in every way. I have tested and owned several Hi-Fi sized DACs and was blown away that most of the quality of these large, expensive devices has been boiled down into a tiny little USB key like this. I can attest that the boost in audio quality is huge and that once you have used a SoundKey you will never go back. The clarity, sound stage, fidelity, bass response, and overall balance of your music and movie soundtracks will leap forwards. It draws power from your device but claims it is very low current and I have not noticed any impact on my phone’s charge at all during use.

Via my Galaxy S9+ MP3, Flac, and M4A files sounded so much better I was still re-listening to my favorite tracks three hours after first plugging in the SoundKey, I just couldn’t stop listening to how wonderful my old files now sounded. Streaming Spotify also sounded a load better, even when tested with mid-range earbuds. Hooked up to my MacBook Pro (which already produces very good audio) movies were so much more enjoyable with the breadth of the soundscapes wrapping right around me and placing me in the middle of the action. With Jurassic World, for example, plugging in the SoundKey showed off the excellent mix, every rustle in the jungle stood out and the cacophonous roars of the dinosaurs were more complex and chilling.

The test kits each have a unique ID number that you use to create an account for you and your pet online. Instructions for the procedure are clear and well laid out online, the interface really is well designed, and taking the DNA sample itself was easy peasy! I just roughly rubbed the small bristly brush inside the dog’s cheek, popped it back in the supplied tube and sent it back to Wisdom in the prepaid package. Simplicity itself. Results only took a couple of weeks and I was emailed a link to take me straight back to the online account where all my pets results were clearly laid out in categories with simply laid out results.

I was very happy to find that all three of my dogs were indeed 100% purebred and had zero health issues commonly associated with poorly managed breeding programs. Once your pup’s sample reaches our lab we log its arrival, and extract and purify the DNA from the sample that you collected. The DNA is then processed on our proprietary Illumina® Infinium® XT microarray, which tests for approximately 100,000 variants across your dog’s genome. Variants are places in the DNA that can vary between dogs, and the process of determining which particular variants a dog has is called genotyping. In 17th century England, bull baiting fortunately declined in popularity. Sadly, however, a new ugly sport rose up to take its place. As dogfights became increasingly common, there was a real need for a smaller and more agile fighter. This new dog would be a better contestant than the larger bulldog and mastiff. Bulldogs were bred to reduce their size and, over time, they were also crossed with the Black and Tan Terrier, resulting in the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Eventually, dog fighting was outlawed in 1835 and these devoted and loyal dogs were free to become home pets. From ugly beginnings … to a beautiful breed we’re glad are here today.

I don’t have a problem hearing the TV as I’m usually in a quiet room anyway but the Conversation mode was a real help when chatting in a group in a loud room. Generally, I have an issue focusing on the speaker’s voice in crowded settings and often struggle to get more than the gist as background noise blurs together with the voice. Using the Smart Ear definitely helped in this specific situation, pulling the voice of the speaker out to the front and stopping me struggling to engage with the conversation.

With its price dropped to $139.99 the Nuu G3 must be the best value smartphone on the market, and it is no slouch!

You might not have heard of Nuu but they have been aggressively expanding out from their Chinese base to gain a footing in the mid and low priced smartphone market. Slow but steady growth has led them to release the G3, a phone that earns its place alongside budget offerings from the bigger more recognised names in the market. Importantly the G3 has just seen a huge price drop from $199.99 to $139.99! An incredible deal for what you get, making it a real contender for best sub $200 smartphone.

Turn it on and the screen also boosts this impression that the Nuu G3 is not a sub $200 phone. Colours are bright but not overly bold and the screen brightness wows enabling outdoor use on sunny days without issue. The graphics chip also pushes the G3 along very well and I had no lag issues and a very smooth and pleasant time scrolling through screens, photos and options.

Since my initial testing, the Nuu G3 has received an update to Android 8.0 Oreo with the Jan 2019 security patch and feels much better for it

One drawback was that it only ran Android 7.1 out of the box, a three-year-old version of this hugely successful Google OS, but since my initial testing the G3 has received an update to Android 8.0 Oreo with the Jan 2019 security patch and feels much better for it. The Nuu interface design was also updated slightly and is not too over-the-top (like some) feeling quite close to a pure Android experience, something I favour. After initial testing, I always install Nova Launcher on devices and once that was up and running the G3’s interface was super quick and responsive, a real pleasure to use. Do note that the screen glass is not hardened and it quickly scratched when left in my bag for a few days walking about. However, this is a sub $200 phone so some compromises are to be expected but whack on a cheap screen protector and you are good to go.

There is no headphone jack but headphone or speaker connectivity over Bluetooth was quick and produced a fun if unremarkable sound. Onboard speakers, however, are bottom firing and are not much fun to listen to. I had no issues with its connectivity generally and using 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC presented no problems at all, it was quick to connect and faster than its price tag might indicate. The G3 is also equipped with Android Beam, which allows you to send contacts and files, share photos and videos, and even beam webpage links to another Android device by simply bringing the two phones together.

With Android 8.0 installed power management would have improved so I restarted my battery testing and was very pleased to find the 3,000mAh G3 battery lasted a full day of general use, an improvement over 7.1 when it faded at about 9 hours. I ran into no battery drain problems when using the G3 for work, video, social or just messing about.

You can choose between fingerprint or face unlock but not both together. Hating face unlock I went with fingerprint and was pleased to find the rear mounted detector was as fast as pretty much any other phone I have used, it really is quick! Face unlock was very frustrating to set up and I gave up trying it out after ten minutes of fiddling so take that into account.

The G3 has a very nice 64GB of built-in storage (around 55GB left after the OS & preinstalled apps) and a respectable 4GB of RAM explaining why it speeds along so nicely. You can add a second sim card or up to 128GB via microSD giving you dual sim set up or a huge amount of room for all your media and files.

Maybe most importantly for some, the camera is pretty good. Not great, but definitely not bad. The dual-rear cameras consist of a 13MP PureCel Plus main camera, and 5 MP depth-sensing camera built with phase detection autofocus. The front camera is also 13MP and produces grainy but pleasing selfies. Video from the rear camera is only 1080p and lacks image stabilisation which really is a downer with my videos wobbling and juddering all over the place, even when I used two hands.

High throughput, speed and bandwidth, combined with low latency have long been the promises of 5G. A lot of folks in the industry have talked about that in theory, but with real-world trials now happening with various operators, what kind of performance can actually be delivered in reality?

Inseego has a rich history in advancing connectivity dating back from the 1990’s, although you might be more familiar with their previous name of Novatel Wireless. A large number of Tier One telecommunications operators around the world are actively working with the company on bringing their 5G NR services to life – both mobile (hotspots) and fixed/in-home 5G (routers, gateways and more) – through MiFi IQ device technology throughout 2019. Availability with numerous carriers are in the works, although Verizon, Telstra, Optus and several others have already made public announcements.

While mobile 5G (hotspots) will bring next-generation networks to life on-the-go, in-home 5G is already emerging as an alternative to traditional in-home broadband internet from cable providers. In fact, there have been reports in the United States that early customers of Verizon 5G Home, the leading carrier’s recently launched fixed wireless service, are converts who previously purchased their broadband Internet connectivity from traditional cable companies.

Whether it’s their emerging in-home or mobile devices, MiFi IQ 5G NR technology has been performing in real-world trial scenarios. In fact, data points to the devices already having achieved more than 2 Gbps of speed and sub-10 milliseconds of latency in multiple component carrier aggregation (CA) scenarios. This was also showcased in Barcelona, with MiFi IQ 5G hotspots being the only devices of their kind to be running live on 5G NR network infrastructure at the conference.

To showcase the capabilities of the MiFi IQ 5G NR hotspot at MWC, they performed the world’s longest live 5G data call alongside network infrastructure partner Ericsson, streaming video and other data for almost seven hours at the show.

“This is an exciting milestone for 5G NR. And our MiFi IQ 5G NR hotspot is the only hotspot to be running live at Mobile World Congress this week,” said Ashish Sharma Chief Marketing Officer, EVP IoT & Mobile Solutions at Inseego.

While the MiFi IQ lines are focused on consumers and prosumers, Ctrack by Inseego and Skyus by Inseego highlights the convergence of 5G and IoT device-to-cloud solutions.

IoT device-to-cloud intelligent solutions include Ctrack by Inseego (this is a widely used IoT device-to-cloud telematics/fleet tracking solution around the world – including with prominent fleets, airlines like Lufthansa/KLM Equipment Services/etc.) and Skyus by Inseego – Industrial IoT 5G/LTE gateways/routers/etc. as well as intelligent cloud software.

SoftBank-backed CloudMinds also marked the global debut of its technology powered by the HARIX Cloud Brain platform and connected with MiFi IQ 5G NR technology at MWC.

At MWC I checked out their XR-1 robot in action. This is the first humanoid service robot with vision-controlled manipulation capabilities powered by Cloud AI via 5G connectivity. It features Smart Compliant Actuator (SCA) technology for precision grasping, and Human Augmented Robotics Intelligence using the company’s eXtreme Reality (HARIX) platform, the robot can be controlled remotely by a person in a different location wearing VR goggles, but can also perform a range of intricate tasks autonomously. such as threading a needle or shaking hands with someone, applying the right amount of pressure as they do so. These “tactile capability” tasks might seem simple, but are actually incredibly difficult to perform to what would be deemed an acceptable level of competency in an average human.

One of the robots at the show, named Rachel, was able to find and grab a bottle as it was placed around a table, then “serve” it to a guest. Two other robots were performing an intricate dance with, I have to say, considerably more grace and rhythm than I’ve seen on many a wedding dance floor.

All of these demonstrations were great fun to watch, but the point they were demonstrating is that in order to enable all that to happen, the robots needed to be plugged into a high throughput/speed infrastructure with virtually no delay (latency) all of which were brilliantly delivered by MiFi IQ 5G connectivity. It helps to paints a vibrant picture of how cloud artificial intelligence, robotics and 5G connectivity are coming together to transform various industries and society as a whole.

5G connections will surpass one billion by 2023 according to CCS insights.

We have recently seen a flurry of operators stating their ambitions to rollout 5G services more quickly than previously planned. This has prompted tech analyst firm CCS Insight to revise its forecast, raising near-term expectations for these services.

Their new report now predicts that 5G connections will reach 340 million in 2021, before surpassing 1 billion in the first half of 2023. By 2025, the total is expected to hit 2.7 billion, equivalent to more than one connection in every five in the world.

“The intentions of major US carriers to launch 5G in late 2018 have been clear for a while. But recently we’ve seen greater urgency to deploy networks from providers in Europe, the Middle East and China,” said Kester Mann, principal analyst at CCS Insight. “While Europe may still be around a year adrift of the leading markets in 5G, some regional operators are clearly determined to launch commercial services as soon as next year”.

Last week, Telia launched a pre-commercial 5G network in Helsinki in preparation for a full commercial offering in 2019. The Nordic provider has a pedigree in early launches of mobile technology, having claimed to be “first in the world” to launch commercial 4G, in late 2009.

Recent bullish statements from other networks including Telecom Italia, BT, Swisscom and Telenor point to 5G becoming a commercial reality in Europe sooner than previously assumed. Finnish operator Elisa has even gone a step further, claiming to have launched a commercial network already – albeit without supporting devices.

These ambitions contrast with the more cautious approach of major groups like Vodafone, Orange, Deutsche Telekom and Telefonica, which have only committed to commercial 5G services in 2020. “Nevertheless, once networks are launched, the motivation to bring users onto them will be huge”, says Mann.

Another region with a positive near-term outlook is the Middle East, after a quartet of regional providers made bold claims of early network deployments within days of each other in May 2018. According to the report, these assertions are likely to have been motivated by local one-upmanship, yet illustrate more bullish expectations for the region than previously assumed.

The report further states that it expects China to overtake the US to become the biggest 5G market in 2020, with 40 million connections. By 2025, connections in China will surpass 1 billion, accounting for nearly four connections in every ten worldwide. The country remains the biggest source globally of 5G adoption by far, with indications that the country’s largest operator, China Mobile, may launch ahead of previous expectations, in 2019. Additionally, local infrastructure suppliers Huawei and ZTE may sharpen their focus on the domestic market following recent geopolitical tension that has led to more challenging environments in several markets, including the US and Australia. And a potential merger of China Telecom and China Unicom has been rumoured to be driven by a desire to achieve global 5G supremacy.

In the US, carriers are gearing up to launch the first commercial 5G networks, possibly as soon as this month. The initial focus will be on fixed wireless technology, but without supporting smartphones this will remain a niche opportunity, as it will account for just one percent of 5G connections worldwide by 2025.

Indeed, all these early network launches wouldn’t allow users to move to 5G connections without the efforts of smartphone makers and chipset suppliers to deliver the first 5G-enabled mobile phones as soon as Spring 2019. The very first handsets will have room for improvement, but by the end of 2019, it is expected that many major flagship smartphones will support the new technology. especially in affluent countries. The iPhone is unlikely to be among the first 5G phones in 2019. But despite Apple’s possible late arrival, almost 60 million 5G-enabled smartphones are forecast to be sold in 2019.

“This means Android smartphone makers will jump at the opportunity to offer some innovation in the hope of tempting people to replace their phone next year”, concludes Marina Koytcheva, vice president of forecasting at CCS Insight.

This new app encourages children to connect with the natural world through an engaging digital experience.

The Natural History Museum (NHM) is the most visited natural history museum in Europe and the top science attraction in the UK; we welcome more than 4.5 million visitors a year. Now, the NHM, in partnership with Dell EMC and in association with Intel and Microsoft, launched Dippy’s Naturenauts, a progressive web app (PWA) using mobile technology to create a digital experience to encourage children to venture outdoors and interact with the natural world. This will be the first time PWA technology has been used to create this type of interactive experience for children and the Museum commissioned digital creative agency Toaster with the task of delivering it to the public.

“Our goal was to create curiosity about the natural world through a digital product that mixes experimentation, learning and story-telling,” explains Jake Cooper, ECD at Toaster. “Too often technology is positioned as a reason why we are losing  touch with nature. Dippy’s tour is a great platform to help kids connect with the world around them.”

The educational app has been created to support the Museum’s two-year, UK-wide tour of its iconic Diplodocus dinosaur cast, Dippy on Tour. Dippy the Diplodocus had never been on public display outside London but has now been installed in Dorset, the first stop of a UK-wide tour which will travel to seven other partner venues, ending in Norwich in 2020. The tour aims to instil a passion for nature in children and encourage families to explore green spaces wherever they live – in countryside or urban environments.

“Dippy, the Natural History Museum’s most famous specimen, is on a mission to reconnect the next generation of scientists with the natural world around them. Toaster’s approach enables us to best leverage the digital landscape to capture the imagination of a much wider audience and offer them an immersive experience, regardless of whether they are able to see Dippy’s bones in the flesh,” says Piers Jones, Chief Product and Digital Officer at the Natural History Museum. “At a time when people are more disconnected than ever from nature, we believe finding new ways to ignite curiosity in and understanding of the natural world has never been more vital, and this progressive web app will help engage children with the nature on their doorstep and encourage them to explore, discover and want to protect the world around them.”

Designed for children aged four and above, characters Dippy and Fern the fox lead the user through a series of fun exploratory games created to encourage them to interact with the natural world around them

• A ‘tree safari’, in which children are able to make virtual bark rubbings from different trees by using the cameras on their phones, swiping their fingers across the screen which captures the image and allows them to add annotations and build their own digital scrapbook.
• Identifying birds by appearance and their song to provide information about birds native to different parts of the country.
• Finding things in nature utilising the devices built in camera, from the sky and rocks to feathers and flowers, that match selected shades and tones on a digital colour chart. This super-accessible activity will inspire children about the many amazing colours that exist in nature all around them.
• Identifying flowers – using scientific identification techniques the app will guide children to compare their photographs of flowers to a library in the app and set them on the path of identification.

Children will be encouraged to create their own avatar to personalise the experience. By completing the tasks and challenges throughout the interactive adventure children and families will unlock special badges and fun facts about UK wildlife. As the tasks are completed the players will unlock new pages in a digital storybook that features their avatar and photography alongside Dippy and Fern as they explore the natural world together.

The progressive web app technology enables app-like functionality on a wide variety of devices from smart phones or tablets, through a web browser, whilst also delivering a version of the experience that works best on devices with lower functionality as well as desktop. Once the browser has loaded the content the app will be fully functional offline allowing the user to limit data usage and use the app in areas where connectivity may be low. This is achieved by the PWAs service-worker caching content, which speeds up the loading content and means the app will load faster when you revisit it.

It was love at first sight when I unpacked the top spec Dell Precision 7720 last week. Cupid’s bow twanged and his poison arrow thudded deep into the meat of my heart, I was a gonna. She was over £7k of laptop and I was a drooling geek, palms sweaty at the prospect of an Intel Xeon E3-1535M v6 server processor, Nvidia Quadro P5000 and a Samsung SM961 M.2 SSD. My shaking hands slowly peeled off her cardboard clothes, plugged her straight into the mains and turned myself on 😉 So how was it? Well, it was sweet while it lasted but she soon left me and drove away with the same cheeky UPS driver!

Obviously, any laptop packing this kind of heat is going to be rather big and not a ‘pop in your bag and take to a meeting’ kind of computer:

Anyone spending this much on a Laptop will be using some serious software for the kind of creative jobs that make the UltraSharp UHD (3840×2160) screen on my test unit an essential option, but for when 4K is not enough there is an HDMI 1.4 out and mini DisplayPort 1.4 out that supports third-party screens of up to 8K!

The keyboard is really quite nice to use, with a pleasingly soft key feel and minimal travel, but I don’t think it will see much action as this is not a machine for writing. Disappointingly the touchpad is a miserable flash back to the 90’s and is basically useless, truly awful! However this would only be a real issue if users planned to move the 7720 around like a notebook on a daily basis, but it’s just not that kind of machine. Creative power users working on video, graphics or VR dev jobs will most probably plug in a mouse or pen and tablet for controlled cursor control and happily bypass the build-in touchpad altogether.

As you would expect on a gargantuan beast like the 7720 connectivity is excellent. Four USB 3.0 A ports with PowerShare technology for charging peripherals, one super fast Thunderbolt 3 port and a Gigabit Ethernet socket. 802.11ac dual-band Wi-Fi plus Bluetooth 4.2 will get you further connected and a side-mounted SD/SDHC/SDXC UHS-II port will gobble up all your digital media. The 7720 also sports dual, integrated, noise-cancelling, digital array microphones, and stereo speakers powered by Waves MaxxAudio Pro plus has a good old headphone jack to boot!

As usual, there are a few bundled pieces of software, some useless like Candy Crush Soda Saga (why?!) but the Dell Optimizer 4.0 app might actually be one of the rare useful ones.

When not on mains power the 6 Cell (91 Whr) Long Life Cycle Lithium Ion Polymer Battery kept me going for a solid seven hours of video editing and a little light rendering. This is a very useful feature and the 7720 lasted longer than any other workstation level laptop I have used. I would normally expect no more than four hours of serious use on battery power, but I’d recommend staying glued to the mains for any serious rendering as the 7720 is a real monster and gets pretty hot under load. As workstation classification demands cooling is taken seriously and Dell have done a good job, the fans are not too loud and are quite effective at cooling it down during render-heavy tasks.

Dell’s patented 5th generation dual cooling fans provide a brilliant approach to thermal cooling, taking performance and comfort to levels never before seen on a task-intensive laptop. No matter how high-powered your project, your processing and graphical applications will work within turbo frequencies and your system will stay cool.

Security is another plus point for the 7720 and it comes as standard with a smart card reader with TMP encryption but an optional fingerprint reader and NFC sensor offer more options for keeping international spooks out of your machine. I didn’t test the fingerprint reader on my sample but it looks the business and is placed nicely, out of the way in the right corner.

VR is our specialist area here at Tech Trends so I was very happy to see the 7720 claims to be VR-ready. That is quite a claim so I plugged in Dell’s own excellent Windows Mixed Reality Visor Headset, hooked up the accompanying Bluetooth handsets and gave it a spin. I was very impressed and after Windows updated a few of its MR components I was straight into the Cliff House, teleporting around, using apps and having fun. There was no lag or judder and the hand controls were super fast. Yes, I was using the top spec version of the 7720 and am sure that less well-speced versions might not be as slick with VR so users would need to make sure they choose the appropriate VR-capable options for maximum graphics and processor power.

The Nvidia Quadro P5000 is an awesome GPU with 2560 CUDA Cores and 16 GB GDDR5 memory. It does an incredible job with VR, giving a smooth and faultless experience and lent its considerable muscle to CUDA compatible applications

Now we come to the negative, as yes, there was one thing that caused me serious annoyance with the 7720. It was slow. What!! I hear you scream, how can a machine with specs like these be slow? Well, I wondered this too, and can only place the blame on the slow speed, low cost, Samsung M.2 SSD and its drivers. Windows 10 was just sluggish, opening browsers, folders and utilities took two to three seconds and I felt like I was wading through treacle.

Try as I could, I couldn’t find newer M.2 drivers online to test my theory so I can’t really be sure what the problem was and the bundled Dell Precision Optimizer 4.0 was no help. This issue didn’t totally undermine the power and usability of the 7720 and didn’t affect VR at all but irritated me to the point of screaming at it while I waited for new windows to open and Win10 to do basic tasks. I am sure a service call to Dell and some fiddling around with drivers would fix this but for £7k+ I expected lightning speed out of the box and I didn’t get it. I am sure this is just a glitch so can’t hold it against the 7720 which overall is an incredible workstation and well worth the price tag for creative professionals working in cutting-edge Graphics, Video or VR.

When most of us are messing around on our phones we use Apps, little programs that hook us straight into the service, game or social network we want. In fact, most of us won’t use a browser on our mobile phones much these days, but browser tech is getting seriously clever and what are called Web Apps are coming along leaps and bounds with WebVR at the cutting edge.

What is really clever is the experimental browser technology that connects to your phone or tablet’s built-in compass, geolocation and microphone, opening up the world in a completely unique way. This new interactive experience will work on your iOS11+ and Android 7+ device, no App needed here. Just visit the Up & Away site in your browser, Chrome 61+ recommended, and get ready for lift off.

By blowing into the device’s microphone, users can blow the Up & Away hot air balloon up into the sky in a bid to visit different locations around the globe. Keep blowing into your device to see how far you can travel. Apart from huffing and puffing into the phone to power your flight, pointing the device in the direction you want to travel lets you control which continents you visit. The harder a user blows, the further the hot air balloon will travel and – with the aim to get to destinations including New York, Nuuk, Paris and Berlin – users can challenge themselves to get further each time.

Sat comfortably at home I was nevertheless feeling restless, so took my balloon for a trip. A little countdown allowed me to fill my lungs and my first long blow took me 1,253 miles, all the way to Helsinki!

A cute little illustration showed the city and a few of its inhabitants while a bite-sized traveller tip warned me that temperatures there could drop to -50C. Too cold for me, so I quickly set off, although I forgot to point my compass south and only made things worse, landing 1,953 miles away in Nuuk – the capital of Greenland.

My third attempt to escape the cold landed me in the frigid North Atlantic, so I scrabbled for my rudimentary geography and started thinking more carefully about the direction I wanted to travel in.

Blow number four landed me far to the east in the Brexit-shattered Brussels, but this was not quite warm enough, so travelling due south via Prague my fifth blow got me to the glorious Malaga – where the traveller’s tip informed me I could enjoy 320 days of sun per year. Wooo Hooo!

Basking on the beach for a few minutes made my tummy grumble, so I headed west and after an epic journey arrived in New York City where they serve the finest steaks on the planet. I was home.

This excellent mobile browser technology was a blast to use and pretty unobtrusive, only requiring access to my phone’s microphone and geolocation functions to give a really fun interactive experience. Highly recommended for a bit of armchair travelling at this grim time of the year, at least here in the UK!
