Pornhub Launches AI-powered Model That Detects Over 10,000 Pornstars in Videos Using Computer Vision
With more than 10 million engaged members, over 5 million videos and 80 million visitors a day, Pornhub is well established as one of the leading adult video streaming sites out there. Now, with the influx of technology, particularly regarding AI/computer vision, we’re able to update our system and implement a model that will significantly improve content tagging. At the end of the day, we want our users to access the content that they visit our site for – be it videos of Riley Reid or any pornstar for that matter. The new AI model is designed to complement the old fashioned user tagging of content and is fed several thousand videos, in addition to official photos of pornstars, to learn from. Then, based on what the AI has learned, it scans videos and returns the matching pornstars with a high confidence level. Pornhub users then validate what the AI model returns, either upvoting or downvoting the pornstar tags on the video, depending on its validity. Pornhub’s AI machine learning model uses this community validation mechanism to constantly get smarter.

In fact, over the course of the past month alone, while we tested the model in beta, it was able to scan through 50,000 videos that have had pornstars added or removed on the video tags.” Corey explained
Within the next year, Pornhub plans on scanning all 5 million videos currently on its platform and will also start scanning for category and tag detection in the videos. So, for example, the AI model will know if a video is shot outside and will add it to the “Public” category. Or, it will know if there are blondes in a video and automatically add it to the “Blonde” category. Furthermore, the model will also be able to detect various sex positions and be able to properly tag them.
